Affirmations can be a powerful tool to help you change your mood, state of mind, and manifest the change you desire in your life. But they work best if you can first identify the unwholesome belief that is opposing them. Mindfulness meditation is a very effective method to help you uncover your unconscious thought patterns. It allows you to categorise them, identifying what is wholesome or negative and afflicted. Affirmations are positive, present tense statements said with confidence about a perceived truth. They have the power to program your mind into believing the stated concept. However, with everything in life it takes practice, an open mind and a willingness to change.

As I embark on a new and exciting chapter of my life, last weekend I decided to tidy up my computer files and came across two significant things; a vision board I created in 2007 and a poem I wrote in 2012.
I was in absolute awe when I rediscovered them. It proved to me once again that guided by my intuition, I have been clearly defining my hopes and dreams over many years, thereby deliberately creating my reality. Now in 2020, my past intentions have come to fruition – incredible!
The office worker
As I sit in my pen
I’m getting out but don’t know when
Dare I dream another life?
Whilst here I must resolve this strife!
As I sit and wonder why
Will I fully live before I die?
Is this really it for me?
9 to 5 and cups of tea!
If only I could escape mundane
Branch out a bit, perhaps retrain
Around in circles in my mind
How to dodge this awful bind?
If only I could reach the edge
Jump off some exciting ledge
Into realms of all possibility
Where wishes become my reality.
The world would be a happy place
Peace and security for the human race
I can play my finest part
Live my life with all my heart.
Yes, that would be a sunny day
When my creative child comes out to play
Spring and summer will never end
Every stranger is my friend.
Oh, how I long to have this now
I hope in time that I learn how
To never lose my faith and hope
